Vision boards are very popular right now. I remember first reading about them over 16 years ago. In today's episode I explain what they are and how to make them in a fun and effective.

In today's episode I talk about one of my favorite tools: Vision Boards. A Vision Board is a collage of images and words of someone's dreams, desires and goals that are arranged and glued on a board to help them feel inspired and motivated. I've created my own vision boards with magical results.
PURPOSE OF VISION BOARDS
It helps us get clarity about our own desires, sometimes we don't even know what we really want.
Most of us live a hectic life and juggle many things at the same time. This causes us to feel overwhelmed and disperse. A vision board allows us to focus on what is really important to us.
When we create a vision board we are giving ourselves permission to dream. It is a playful way to come up with ideas that we may think are out of our reach without feeling guilty or disappointed.
By using the materials need to create a vision board we get to discover new things that we didn't know even existed or were out there available to us. By discovering what we like, we also discover who we are.
REMEMBER OUR "WHY"
Our "why" reminds us the reasons we work so hard so we can stay motivated.
Making a vision board is a creative way to have fun. It not only reminds us of our childhood but it also creates a playful project that inspires and excites us.
LAW OF ATTRACTION
The main purpose of creating a vision board is to manifest your desires. In the world of the Law of Attraction, when we focus on what we want, we attract it.
WHAT DO YOU NEED
SET TIME APART
First of all, you need to set time and space for yourself. You need to be able to relax and enjoy the process so try to do it when you are at home by yourself. If necessary, ask your husband to bring the kids to the movies so you can get some quiet time.
SET THE TONE
I like to make the atmosphere as pleasant and inspiring as possible. Lighting aromatic candles and playing soothing music in the background sets the mood for this fun project.
- Magazines (Find your favorite magazines, as many as you can)
- And the most important one: A glass of wine (I'm joking! Not really...)
WHAT TO DO
Once you have everything and you have set the mood, start going through your stack of magazines and cut out images, photos or words that call to you. The idea is to pick them without thinking too much. Allow your heart to do the picking for you, choose whatever it makes it sing.
After you are done cutting out the images and words, start glueing them on the board. I always start with the biggest ones and try to fill out the whole board so there are no empty spaces. Create your own personal phrases or sentences using the words you cut out that have meaning for you.
WHEN YOU ARE DONE
After you are done with your board, admire it, then put it away and let it go. Don't let it become an obsession. Allow the law of attraction do its work and get ready to be surprised. It may not happen in a day, a month or a year, but eventually, when you least expect it, you'll find yourself looking at your board in amazement by how many things from it had manifested in your life.
The most important thing to remember while creating your vision board is: HAVE FUN!
On today's podcast I share how creating a vision board was one of the things I used to attract my now husband. Below is a photo of one of my very own vision boards. I made it when I was playing with the idea of wanting to start painting. I didn't know what I was going to paint yet but I knew I wanted to become a professional artist. And it came true...
